About CraftCalc
We build the Minecraft planning tools we kept wishing existed while designing builds ourselves: exact grids, honest maths, no sign-up walls.
Why this site exists
Circle generators online either use fuzzy rules or bury basic options behind ads and accounts. The maths is not the hard part: rasterizing a circle on a block grid is a solved, sixty-year-old algorithm. CraftCalc puts the solved part up front and spends its effort on what builders actually need: buildable layers, copyable plans, and sphere mode that tells you which ring goes where.
How the tools are built & tested
- Standard algorithms. The circle generator uses the midpoint circle algorithm (Bresenham); portal and beacon maths follow the game's documented mechanics.
- Tested against known values. Every formula has a hand-verified test case that must pass before deploy.
- Client-side only. No uploads, no accounts, nothing tracked.
- Corrections welcome and credited. If a mechanic changed in a patch, tell us and we fix it with a changelog entry.
How the site makes money
Right now: nothing. CraftCalc is independent and self-funded. If we ever add sponsorships or
affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled (rel="sponsored") and never affect
recommendations. Tools stay free.
Who runs it
A small crew of long-time Minecraft players and software engineers. We have opinions about spiral staircases and will defend them in writing.
